How big is a 3 carat round?

Carat is weight, not size, so shape matters. The round stones in this range typically measure about 9.3 mm across. Compare the millimetre measurements on each listing, not only the carat.

What to look for in a 3 carat round

Round brilliants carry a cut grade, and cut decides how much light the stone returns. Look for Excellent; most round stones in this size have it. Because a round has no long axis, the measurements on a listing should be nearly equal.

Most stones in this size are D to F in color and VS2 or better in clarity. Use the color and clarity filters to narrow the list.
