About Chains

Questions

Is this jewelry solid gold or gold-plated?

It is 14K gold, not plated. Construction varies by piece: some chains are solid, while some wider Cuban, rope and curb chains are semi-solid or lightweight, which keeps the weight and price down. Where we know the construction, the listing says so; for any other piece, ask us before you buy. Gold-plated pieces have their own collection, gold-plated silver.

Should I choose 14K or 18K gold?

14K gold is 58.3% pure gold, so it is harder and stands up better to daily wear. 18K gold is 75% pure gold, with a deeper yellow color and a softer surface. For chains, bracelets and rings worn every day, 14K is the practical choice.

How do I choose a chain width and length?

Widths run from 1.4mm box to 6mm Cuban: under 2.5mm suits a pendant, 3 to 4mm is an everyday chain, 4.5mm and up wears alone. Necklaces run 16 to 26 inches; 16 to 18 sits at the collarbone. Bracelets run 7 to 10 inches.

Can I return a gold piece, and is there a discount?

Unworn jewelry in its original condition can be returned or exchanged within 14 days of delivery; see shipping and returns. New clients can also sign up for 10% off their first jewelry purchase (watches excluded).
